Gillian Rice Maupin

Gillian Rice Maupin is a partner at Lowe Carlo & Maupin. She is a 2005 graduate of the University of Virginia and a 2008 graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law. After graduating from law school, she spent four years as a litigator with a large international law firm before leaving to pursue her passion for Family Law. She joined the firm first as an associate in 2013 and became a partner in 2022. She represents clients in all areas of domestic relations including adoption, divorce, custody, visitation, equitable distribution, support, valuation of businesses and other property, the negotiation and preparation of both premarital agreements and comprehensive settlement agreements, and post-divorce enforcement and modification actions. She appears regularly in both juvenile and circuit courts throughout the Northern Virginia area, including the City of Alexandria and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudon counties. She has represented children as a qualified Guardian ad litem since she began practicing Family Law in 2013.

Gillian prides herself on the care and compassion she brings to her practice and her ability to help people through a difficult time in their lives and to keep their costs down while doing so. She is often able to resolve matters by agreement, but has extensive experience with litigation and motion's practice.

Gillian is a native Alexandrian and proud graduate of St. Mary's School and Bishop Ireton High School. She lives in Old Town with her husband, two daughters, and dog Tippy. She is a breast cancer survivor and a member of the Patient and Family Advocacy Council at Virginia Hospital Center. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, playing guitar, and vinyl record hunting.
